Infiniti QX60 luxury brand mid-to-large SUV product review

The Infiniti QX is known for being luxurious, quiet and spacious. At the same time, the emergence of the Infiniti QX fills the gap in Infiniti's European SUV track. But the Infiniti QX60 was like an unpolished product rushed to market, and the dismal sales made Infiniti lose out to European rivals again.

Don't expect the same thrill on the Infiniti QX60 as all Infiniti QXs. The steering is slow, and subtle bumps are almost everywhere. The 2.5T hybrid version of the QX60 only ran an acceleration time of 9.13 seconds to 100 km/h, which is difficult to compete with the competition. Of course, the slow acceleration is largely due to the fact that the QX60 makes 20 to 30 horsepower less than most of its competitors, while the acceleration is very linear. The fuel consumption of the 3.5L engine is often more than 13 liters per 100 kilometers, coupled with the high standard of fuel demand, which greatly increases the burden on the owner. The QX60 Hybrid is a 2014 QX60 series with a slightly higher towing capacity than the previous petrol version, but the gearbox occasionally has difficulty downshifting.

Even when fully loaded, the Infiniti QX60 doesn't make passengers feel noticeably cramped, but that doesn't mean comfort. The front seats are generally soft, and lumbar support adjustment is optional, a feature that is already standard on most competitors in its class. According to the IIHS test, the child safety seat of the Infiniti QX60 in the middle of the second row is not easy to install, and the owner needs to be careful with the buckle, otherwise it may fall off. The third row of seats cannot be completely flush with the floor after being folded down, which makes many "obsessive-compulsive" patients complain. As with most large SUVs, narrow rear visibility is also a drawback, but Infiniti's surround camera system is a real highlight, with a clear bird's-eye view of the car's surroundings in a variety of visual conditions, and a high level of blind spot monitoring and automatic parking system, which can even make the driver forget that he is parking a large car.

Unlike its Japanese siblings, the Infiniti QX60 has consistently been below average in terms of quality reliability. After three years of use, the gearbox was already failing, and the drivetrain had problems that could not be ignored. The thin paint is also a big shortcoming, and many of the mottled QX60s are actually new cars that haven't been driven for long. In terms of user satisfaction, the Infiniti QX60 is in the middle and lower class.

The safety performance of the Infiniti QX60 meets the TSP standard of IIHS. However, due to the fact that the headlights may not play the role of lighting and warning as they should, the Infiniti QX60 did not receive the "TSP".
