The development process for the Acura MDX was completed in North America. Thanks to its wide range of features and attractive price points, Acura MDX is a bestseller in the North American market. In regular driving, the Acura MDX performs well, but the sportiness is a bit lower than that of the previous generation. The Acura MDX's multimedia entertainment system is a complex design, with the shift buttons on the steering wheel looking streamlined at first glance, but actually being cumbersome.
 
The quality of the Acura MDX is only average. According to Consumer Reports, the MDX's powertrain can be driven with confidence for more than a decade. However, after more than seven years, failures in suspension, air conditioning, electrical circuits, entertainment systems, etc., will gradually increase.
 
The security of MDX is top-notch. In the IIHS test, the model received the highest safety level TSP in its class in FY2007, 2008, 2009, 2012, and 2013. Acura MDX was awarded TSP in FY2013.2015.2016.2017 after the addition of the active safety system.
