The Haval H6 is a real "god car" in China's SUV market, and its sales are always far ahead. In 2016, the top three SUV sales in the world were X-Trail, CR-V and RAV4, which sold a total of 450,000 units in the Chinese market, and the king of joint venture brand SUV sales in the Chinese market was Buick Envision, which sold 270,000 units, and how many Haval H6 units were sold in China? The answer is 580,000 units. By 2017, that number had dropped to 500,000, and although sales had declined slightly, it was still the best-selling SUV in China.
The family tree of the Haval H6 is very large, it replaces the "classic" H6 with the M6, then there is the younger H6 Coupe branch, and finally the main line of the H6. The H6 family involves a variety of configuration combinations such as gasoline, diesel, manual, automatic, two-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive, and then divided into red label and blue label according to design style, forming a strong and rich product lineup. The configuration that consumers want can almost always be found in H6 products, coupled with the good brand acceptance of Haval SUV, it has become the first choice of many people subconsciously.
The first H6 on the market uses Mitsubishi's 4G63S4M engine, which is quite mature, which also lays the foundation for the excellent quality and reputation of H6. The current H6 is divided into 1.3T, 1.5T and 2.0T, and the 1.5T is divided into multi-point EFI and in-cylinder direct injection. Speaking of 4G15, everyone may think that it is Mitsubishi's 4G15, but in fact, the Great Wall 4G15 imitates Toyota's 1NZ-FE, and then adds a turbo and changes to direct injection.
The 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine, codenamed GW4G15B, is quite backward in terms of output characteristics. Statistically, the engine's maximum torque of 210Nm is not weak, but its low torque comes very late, and there is serious lag in the start, and the engine revs above 2500rpm to make a noticeable increase in power. When driving at a constant speed of 100 kilometers per hour, the engine speed is only 2000 rpm, but its fuel consumption is very high.
As for Great Wall's GW4C20, it was jointly developed by Great Wall and Delphi, led by Delphi. The engine has a maximum power of 145kW (197Ps), although it takes 5,200 rpm to produce a maximum torque of 315 Nm, which is produced between 2,000 and 3,600 rpm. The 2.0T engine is mated to a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission, which is not Getrag's, but is independently developed by Great Wall.
The technology of AT and CVT is very mature, and there are only a few reliable suppliers in the world, but the dual-clutch transmission is still in the development stage, and the level of each manufacturer is uneven, such as Porsche's PDK, Honda's 8DCT, and there are also very general Fiat dry dual-clutch transmissions. If it is a dual-clutch independent research and development of its own brand, it is almost certain that the quality is very average. Haval H6 dual-clutch gearbox is like this, at low speed, there will be a problem of dual-clutch frustration, the clutch plate meshing is very slow when starting, light pedaling does not go, heavy pedaling will run, the meshing of the clutch plate will also produce obvious vibration, which makes people very collapsed.
Although Haval H6 firmly holds the SUV sales champion every month, in fact, the Great Wall's car manufacturing level has not improved significantly in recent years, and Haval H6 largely relies on the word-of-mouth inertia accumulated before. Especially the powertrain mentioned above, the Great Wall gearbox is a big example of being constrained. Great Wall is also a long-term reverse research and development car factory, "reverse research and development" is actually imitation. The entire chassis of Haval H6 is based on the chassis of the previous generation of Honda CRV, the special style of the Honda CRV suspension wisharm, and the reaction linkage design with stabilizer bars, including the layout of each implementation hole, have been moved to the Haval H6 model as it is, and even the minimum ground clearance, body width and height are exactly the same, the difference is that the wheelbase of Haval H6 has been lengthened by 6 cm.
However, this reverse development seems to be only to save design costs, not to achieve the same driving quality as the CR-V. In fact, the driving quality of the H6 is very average, there is a relatively obvious steering wheel shake in high-speed driving, the suspension is also extremely stiff, and the stability and comfort are not good.
The comfort of the H6 rear seats is better than that of the front row, the seat cushions and back cushions are softer, the angle of the backrest can also be adjusted, and the head and knee space are more abundant, but the seat cushion is not long, and the support for the thighs is slightly insufficient.
H6The configuration is relatively rich, except for the low configuration is not equipped with ESP body stability control system, the rest of the models are equipped, keyless entry and one-button start, automatic air conditioning, multi-function steering wheel, exterior mirror folding and heating function, sunroof, reversing image, GPS navigation and other practical configurations are not exclusive to the top configuration, and it is very cost-effective in configuration.
In terms of quality, engine problems and electrical problems in the car are more prominent problems on H6, the former is mainly focused on abnormal noise and abnormal fault lights, and the latter is mostly air conditioning and refrigeration problems. After about 6 months of normal use, the reliability feedback of Haval H6 is mainly focused on driving quality (22%), including abnormal brake noise, serious decline in braking strength, and rapid tire wear. This was followed by gearbox problems (17%), which were mainly reflected in the abnormal noise of shifting, the reduction of shift smoothness, and the difficulty of attaching 1st and 2nd gears. In addition, abnormal noise caused by the aging of body trim parts accounted for 14%.
