Boyue is the second model of Geely's "Bozi generation", which is a new SUV model of Geely, and like Borui, it also comes from the Chunxiao factory in Ningbo.
Boyue has three power options, 2.0L, 1.8T low power and 1.8T high power. The 2.0-liter has a maximum output of 141 hp and 178 Nm of torque, of which the 1.8-liter low-power has a maximum power of 120 kW (163 hp) and a maximum torque of 250 Nm, while the 1.8-liter high-power version has a maximum power of 135 kW (184 hp) and a maximum torque of 285 Nm. The sales volume of the 2.0L is very low and is gradually marginalized, as for how to choose between the 1.8T low-power version and the high-power version, it only depends on whether you want to buy a manual transmission or an automatic transmission. The low-power version is equipped with a manual gearbox, and the high-power version is equipped with a 6AT.
The reason why independent brands have been difficult to position themselves in high places, gearboxes are a big constraint, some brands will purchase transmissions such as Aisin and ZF, but the production capacity is easy to be restricted by the gearbox factory, and there are still great deficiencies in power matching, and there are some independent research and development of dual clutches, striving for corner overtaking, but at present, do not say Chinese brands, joint venture brands are both easy to use and reliable double clutch There are not a few. Geely acquired the Australian transmission manufacturer DSI many years ago, so that it has always had a reliable automatic transmission available, although the reputation is not as good as Aisin's 6AT, but in terms of quality and matching, Geely is already the first-class level of its own brand.
Boyue's power smoothness is no problem at all, whether it is floor oil acceleration, deceleration and sudden re-acceleration, the power always remains smooth and stable, because its shift is very lazy, try not to change gears in daily driving, or downshift is very small. After the power of the 1.8T engine is so filtered, all the explosive power disappears, because Boyue is too inclined to smoothness, and this feature is also obvious on Borui. Such tuning will be exchanged for smooth and not tiring power performance, but at the cost of high fuel consumption in the same class, Boyue's urban fuel consumption will generally be more than 12L.
Boyue's suspension is generally praised, and the performance is particularly good in urban road conditions, but the difference between the front and rear of the suspension is slightly obvious, the front suspension is more flexible, the rear suspension is hard, and there will be a slight sense of bouncing, but the level is already very high in the same class. But when it comes to bumpy sections, Boyue's performance is a little worse, and he feels that his flexibility in the middle and late sections is insufficient, and he doesn't feel as calm as GS4.
Control is not Boyue's strength, especially the steering part, the steering wheel has a comfort mode and a sports mode, in the comfort mode, the lightness is good, but the feel is erratic, the virtual position is larger, to the sports mode, the feel will be tighter, but also suitable for daily driving, but there is also a vacant position.
Boyue's central control display display is delicate, the fluency is also good, and the functions are very complete, but the panel of the dashboard is very reflective, and the sunroof sunshade is also very thin.
Boyue's active safety configuration is as rich as Borui's: ACC adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, pre-collision system, etc., and the whole system is equipped with ESP electronic stability system as standard. It should be noted that the lane departure assist only reminds you with a warning sound and does not interfere with the steering, while the ACC still operates in a range of 30 km/h to 150 km/h. 139,800 yuan (1.8T 6AT version) of the intelligent type, LED headlights, sensor wipers, panoramic sunroof, 7-inch LCD instrument cluster, 360° panoramic image, G-Netlink system and other class-leading configurations have been almost fully equipped.
Boyue has a very comfortable riding experience, the front and rear headroom is sufficient, the knee room is also a relatively normal level in the same class, there is no problem with the space, and the platform is also completely flat. The shape of the front seat is very dependent, some people will like this concave and convex shape, but some people will feel that the force is too concentrated, and it will be very uncomfortable. The material of the rear seats is relatively thick, and the angle of the backrest cannot be adjusted, which is a pity, and the central headrest is low and not very comfortable to sit on. Silence is one of Boyue's advantages, road noise, suspension vibration sound, the two most difficult to control noise sources, Boyue has the best level.
Geely's quality record is not excellent, but starting from Emgrand, Geely has made great progress in the quality of car manufacturing, and the "Bo series" as a boutique car series that Geely is bent on building, the quality should be controlled in accordance with Geely's highest standards. In the 2016 JD POWER (China) 100 new car annual failure number survey, Geely was 146 times, the industry average was 146 times, because the number of failures of good quality car manufacturers are significantly lower than the average, the quality level of Boyue remains to be seen.
In terms of safety, Boyue participated in the third batch of C-NCAP crash tests in 2016 and obtained a 5-star safety rating, with an overall score of 58.2 points.
