Lynk & Co is Geely's mid-to-high-end brand, which is positioned between Geely and Volvo, and the Lynk & Co 01 is the first production model of Lynk & Co. The models of Lynk & Co 01 are divided into four levels: "pure, type, yao, and strength", and the disadvantage is that it is difficult to distinguish who is high and who is low, and the advantages are the same. The price is between 158,800 yuan and 200,800 yuan, which exceeds most of the self-owned brand models in the same class and is in line with its brand positioning.
The Lynk & Co 01 uses the CMA platform jointly developed by Geely and Volvo, and although the Lynk & Co 01 is positioned as a compact SUV, in fact, this platform is originally a mid-size platform with high compatibility, and Volvo's XC40 will also use this platform. At present, there are still many independent brands using reverse-developed chassis, and in terms of chassis alone, the starting point of Lynk & Co 01 is much higher.
The Lynk & Co 01 has two engines, one is the VEP4 2.0T turbocharged engine currently on sale, codenamed B4204T30, from the Volvo Drive-E series, with a maximum power of 140kW (190PS) and a maximum torque of 300Nm, and the other is the upcoming 1.5T engine. The 2.0T engine is paired with two different gearboxes, and the high-end "Jin" version is equipped with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission jointly developed by Geely and Volvo, and the other versions priced under 200,000 yuan are all 6AT from Aisin.
Volvo's XC40 and Lynk & Co 01 both use the CMA platform, but the engine and transmission are different. The B4204T30 of the Lynk & Co 01 is a T4 engine, while the XC40 will use a T5 B4204T18 with a maximum power of 184kW (251hp) and a maximum torque of 300Nm. For the drivetrain, Lynk & Co will use a 6-speed automatic transmission and a 7DCT, while the XC40 will use a Geartronic 8-speed automatic manual transmission. Two of the three pieces are different, so it cannot be said that the Lynk & Co 01 is the first production version of the Volvo XC40.
Although the engine of Lynk & Co 01 is only 190 horsepower, but with these two gearboxes, zero hundred acceleration can run into 8 seconds, and the 6AT version can even run to 7.7 seconds, and the measured zero hundred results of the tenth generation Civic are 0.1 seconds faster than it, and there is no need to worry about it in terms of power, it has far exceeded the level of "enough", and the acceleration ability can be regarded as one of the best in the same class. The problem with this engine is the noise, and like other Volvo models, the sound of this four-cylinder engine is still unpleasant.
The 2.0T Volvo engine is matched with Aisin's 6AT, and the entire hardware foundation is very good, that is to say, its lower limit is guaranteed, and the actual tuning is not much different, and it is still a very good product in the same class. Lynk & Co 01 takes into account both the smoothness of shifting and the speed of shifting, and does not give up the shift speed for the sake of smooth shifting like Boyue, but after reaching the manual mode, its shift speed will be slower, so it is not recommended to use the manual mode on a daily basis.
The gear lever of Lynk & Co 01 is the same as the one on the XC40, there is a neutral gear between the forward gear and the reverse gear, and every time you switch between the forward gear and the reverse gear, you need to hang the gear twice, which is equivalent to a double-click button on the mouse. This design is actually exquisite, because the automatic model, if there is no stop, it will be cut directly from D gear to reverse gear, this action is harmful to the gearbox, and for dual-clutch models, this damage will be more obvious. In order to protect the gearbox, Volvo has made a design that must pass through neutral gear between D gear and reverse gear. The manual mode shifts left and right, which is also a design that challenges the driver's habits, but it is not a big problem, after all, it is rarely used.
Lynk & Co 01 The biggest flaw in driving is its steering system, one is that it is not linear, and it is relatively good at the speed gain, but it is very general at the point of following the angle, and the damping sense decreases very quickly when steering at a large angle, which will make people very uncomfortable, if it is steering in medium and high-speed driving, its feedback will suddenly become very small, which makes people particularly unconfident, and I hope Geely will improve this point in the subsequent production batches.
The interior of Lynk & Co 01 is also really high-end in its own brand, rather than a superficial "sense of luxury", not only the design is more connotative, but also very solid in terms of materials and workmanship, very Volvo's shadow. The design of the driver's seat and the co-pilot's seat is very sporty, the ride experience is also relatively comfortable, and the most important thing is that the seats on both sides have 8-way electric adjustment, and the configuration is relatively high. The sound aspect may also be more in line with its positioning, the number of speakers is relatively large, although the sound quality is not determined by the number of speakers.
The space in the back row is not eye-catching, the head and leg space are "enough", and there will be no feeling of depression when sitting, but the seats are short, and the bulge of the middle platform is very high, and the passengers sitting in the middle will feel a little uncomfortable, and if there are three people in the back, it is still more crowded. The space of the trunk is not large, because Lynk & Co 01 wants to make the opening and the trunk flat, so there is still a layer of space under the trunk floor, and the left and right sides of the trunk are occupied by the suspension structure, so it is narrow, and the design of the tail also sacrifices a certain height, fortunately, the rear seats support the collapse, and the entire trunk is completely flat after being put down.
The Lynk & Co 01 participated in the C-NCAP crash test, which was tested before the rule revision, so it received the highest rating of 5 and a half stars, although it was rumored that Lynk & Co also used special parts to participate in the test, but it also received the highest evaluation in the subsequent C-IASI crash test. In terms of reliability, Lynk & Co 01 has three free lifetime warranties, but at present, there are still many uncertain factors in its after-sales service, or there are many rules that are not transparent and take a certain amount of time to improve, and the other point is that its headlights will fog up, and it seems to be a common phenomenon. For the reliability of Lynk & Co 01, we can only have a cautious and neutral attitude.
