Mazda CX-3 Small SUV product review

The CX-3 is a small SUV owned by Mazda that uses the chassis of the Mazda 2 and is also sold as a replacement for the Mazda 2. The CX-3 concept first appeared at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2015 and later at the North American International Auto Show, where it was unveiled as a track version. The CX-3 was launched earlier in North America and other regions, with the concept car already on sale in the same year as its debut, and in China it was imported and sold in 2017 through Changma.

The powertrain of the CX-3 is very simple, front-wheel drive, Skyactiv-G 2.0L engine, 148 horsepower, 10 horsepower less than the 2.0L Ankesaila, 192 Nm of torque, with SKYACTIV 6AT gearbox, foreign countries will have an additional diesel engine and a four-wheel drive version. Compared to the 1.5-liter and 2.0-liter Nexera, the CX-3 will have fewer options and a higher starting price than the Nexera.

With 148 horsepower pushing the 1.2-ton car, the power is definitely adequate, with the 4WD version running 09.6 seconds in the US consumer report test, while the MotorTrend ran 8.6 seconds. Mazda's powertrain is very mature in terms of matching, the gearbox upshifts up and down very quickly, but also very smooth, the steering feels very smooth, the pointing is very precise, and the CX-3 is only a little more than 4.2 meters long, which is shorter than the Ankesaila, and it is very easy to drive.

CX-3's NVH is very similar to the traditional Mazda, when it rains, the sound of raindrops hitting the roof will be very loud, the suppression of wind noise at high speed is not very good, and the transmission of tire noise is also very obvious, and the gap between the second-generation CX-5 is very obvious, and the better point is the shock filtering, and the feeling of bouncing is relatively small.

The biggest disadvantage of CX-3 is space, because it uses Demio's chassis, so the rear space will be very cramped, it can only be said that it can barely sit people, and the gap is very large compared with HR-V, if you often need four people to accompany each other, then CX-3 is no longer suitable. The trunk space is also not optimistic, much smaller than the Ankesaila, and if you want to put more luggage, you can only fold the rear seats, so the CX-3 is more like a four-door two-seater SUV on a day-to-day basis.

In terms of reliability, the reliability expectation given by the U.S. consumer report is 4 out of 5, and since the CX-3 has not been launched for a long time, there is no common problem that has not occurred in the current reliability report, and the reliability is relatively optimistic.

The 2018 CX-3 has won all the best results in the IIHS crash test project and won the TSP award, and the safety is also very good.
