Nissan Qashqai Small SUV product review

The Nissan Qashqai has always been one of the best-selling SUVs in Europe, in addition to its size that is more in line with European tastes, its excellent handling is also an important reason. The new generation Qashqai has a wider body and a larger track than the previous generation, and has further improved handling stability. The car's tuning in handling is also completely European, and the steering of Japanese cars generally has the problem of over-comfort, while the Qashqai's steering is very tight in terms of both light and heavy and false settings.

This generation of Qashqai still comes from the same platform as X-Trail, which also gives it a more advanced chassis architecture than small SUVs such as the Binzhi and Encora, which is its unique advantage. But perhaps in order to widen the gap with X-Trail, the four-wheel drive version of the new Qashqai has been canceled for all series.

The Qashqai has two power versions, 2.0L naturally aspirated and 1.2T turbocharged, and the 1.2T engine shared by the Renault-Nissan Group can be found on the Renault Carbin and Nissan Qashqai in China. However, their gearbox array is a bit different, with the exception of the manual version, the Kabin gets a dual-clutch transmission, while the Qashqai uses the CVT.

The Qashqai doesn't drive like a regular SUV, and every turn feels compact and fast, with the handling of a sedan version. The chassis of the new Qashqai adopts a more complex structure of front and rear independent suspension, which is rare in the same class, and the suspension part of the swing arm is also made of aluminum alloy material with the effect of "stealing light", which can be said to be the only one in the same class, and even the 200,000 level of SUVs that do this are not many.

Despite the highlights in terms of handling, the Qashqai's power data is not impressive, and the engines of both displacements cannot provide strong acceleration ability, and the acceleration score of 10 seconds away is only at the lower level in the same class.

Since the length and wheelbase of this generation of Qashqai have not increased greatly compared with the previous generation, and the multi-link rear suspension has squeezed the interior space, the rear seat space of the Qashqai does not have an advantage compared with smaller competitors such as Binzhi. Coupled with the fact that it has a short rear door and a short body, it can be a bit awkward for larger people to enter the back. In terms of the tail compartment, the Qashqai is about the same volume as the Binzhi tailgate, the height of the Binzhi tailbox is better, and the depth of the Qashqai tailgate is slightly better.

Nissan's cars of all levels are generally not too bad for sound insulation, but the Qashqai is on par with the Binzhi in this aspect, which destroys the "sense of luxury" of driving.

In terms of quality, the Qashqai is quite reliable, but there are some cars that have more gearbox and driving system failures, but overall, the Qashqai is still a reliable and durable car.

The safety of the Qashqai is also unquestionable, with five-star crash test scores in Europe and Australia, and in China, it has won the highest five-star safety rating without any suspense.
