Mazda6 Atez Ordinary Brand Midsize Sedan Product Review

Since the first generation of the Mazda6 entered the country in 2003, people have been impressed by its dynamic appearance and excellent handling, and the first-generation Mazda6 that can be seen everywhere today also proves the quality and reliability of this car. Today, the Mazda6 has developed into its third generation, and with the blessing of the "Skyactiv" technology platform, this generation of Mazda6 has more product power than any previous generation.

Mazda is an unconventional automaker, and in the Chinese market, where small-displacement turbos are popular, the Mazda6 still insists on using a naturally aspirated engine, with two displacements, 2.0-liter and 2.5-liter. Mazda's self-priming car is actually very simple, that is, the SKYACTIV engine is equipped with a 6AT gearbox, the powertrain is very similar in tuning style, the 2.0L engine performs very well on the Nexera, but it can only be said "enough" on the Atez, not enough power, in short, Mazda's self-priming car, the larger the displacement, the more fun to drive. In today's market, when looking for a self-aspirating AT car, Mazda can be said to be one of the few options.

Unlike other engines that have become "squeamish" because of the use of advanced technology, Japanese manufacturers are good at letting their engines continue to eat "coarse grains", Toyota's hybrid system, Honda's Earth Dream engine, and Mazda's Skyactiv engine can all use China's No. 92 gasoline.

The chassis of the Atez gives priority to handling performance, the overall feeling is stiff and the road feeling is clear, and the suspension provides excellent support when entering corners at ordinary line changes or small angles, but if the speed is fast or sharp corners, the body roll will be greatly gained, but in exchange for better grip, the body is still very controllable. In this class, the Mazda chassis has the best cornering performance, but from the perspective of daily driving, retaining too much road feeling means that the ride quality will be reduced, and the sense of isolation between the cabin and the road surface is very weak.

In addition to the powertrain, the steering wheel's excellent grip and precise steering also provide Artez with excellent driving pleasure. The electric power steering wheel is light enough for even a female driver, but it has a very thick and secure feedback. What's more, Artez's steering wheel is surprisingly small, and the steering ratio gains naturally with speed and angle, making it feel like the whole car is under control. The front of the car is very precise in pointing, and the rear of the car is also top-notch, and the whole body is very integrated without dragging in the corners.

Despite such a superior driving performance, the Atez also has a more obvious minus, its cabin is not very quiet, the tire noise with the speed gain is obvious, which will appear on most road surfaces, and at high speeds, there will also be more obvious wind noise, which greatly reduces the ride comfort.

The wheelbase of Artez is 2830mm, which is not behind Accord and Camry in the same class, but the rear space belongs to the lower middle level in the same class. Fortunately, the trunk volume is satisfactory, and the rear seats can be folded down in a 4/6 proportional manner, Artez is one of the few cars that can fold the rear seats to full flat, which is more practical.

Mazda's car quality has always been very good, according to the reliability statistics of the American "Consumer Reports", the historical reliability of the Mazda6 is only slightly inferior to the Camry and Accord.

The Mazda6 has been ranked in the Top Safety Level (TSP) in the IIHS crash test for 4 consecutive years, making it one of the safest family cars.
