In Kia's car series, K refers to a sedan, KX is an SUV, and KX Cross is an SUV from the name, but the Cross behind it means that it is a crossover, and it is difficult for ordinary people to figure out its origin, but in fact, KX Cross is a crossover transformed from the K2 small sedan platform, but the appearance is very similar to SUV.
 
The KX Cross can be said to be a hatchback version of the K2, but it is not a casual thing, it is completely independent from the point of view of the body line, plus the black scratch-resistant material common to CUVs and the roof rack to create a little functional feeling, but due to the short body of the KX Cross, part of the black scratch-resistant material on the rear wheel arch part invades the doors, which is not very beautiful. The KX Cross will also have some of the same elements as the K2, such as the headlights and taillights, while the 2018 model year's headlights have lenses, and the lighting effect will be significantly improved compared to the halogen lamps of the 2017 model. In terms of body, the KX Cross is not much different from the K2, the body is 50mm taller, and the minimum ground clearance has been increased by 15mm, which will be significantly improved compared to the K2 in terms of passability.

The KX Cross adopts the suspension configuration of the front MacPherson rear torsion beam, and the steering is electronic power steering, which feels too light, although it is suitable for home use, but the feedback is really not real, and the directivity is also at the level of which way to play. The KX Cross's sound insulation and quietness are more surprising, and all aspects of noise are well isolated, but there will be tire noise and wind noise coming in above 100km/h, and daily urban driving will not be disturbed by noise.
 
As a small car at the 80,000 yuan level, it is difficult to ask too much for the interior, and the KX Cross will use more hard plastic in the interior part, which looks good, but the touch is slightly cheaper. The KX Cross has more seating space than many German compact cars, with plenty of headroom and knee room for passengers around 175cm in the back, a moderate angle of seat backrest, enough cushion length, enough support for the thighs, and a small central platform bulge, so it's no problem to ride three adults occasionally.
 
The KX Cross is very conservative in terms of the three major parts, the powertrain of the naturally aspirated engine with a 6AT is very mature, the failure rate is very low, and there are no high complaints about other parts, so it is a model with good reliability. In terms of safety, the KX Cross took part in the C-NCAP crash test in 2018 and received a four-star rating with an overall score of 51.10, which is in the upper middle range.
