Honda Fit 80,000 yuan car product evaluation

The Fit is a global model launched by Honda in 2001, with cumulative global sales of more than 5.5 million units in more than ten years, which can be called the sales hegemon in the small car market. At present, the third-generation Fit launched in 2013 is currently on sale in China, and the third-generation Fit was selected as one of the top ten interiors of Ward in 2015 in the United States, and its hybrid model is the 2013 Japanese Car of the Year.

The third-generation Fit is powered by Honda's Earth Dream 1.5L direct-injection engine, and its manual version achieved a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 8.8 seconds in the US Auto Guide test, only 0.1 seconds behind the Fiesta 1.0T model, and far behind the Fiesta in 0-100 mph. However, the Fit is not just a car for young people, practical and flexible space is the biggest selling point of the Fit, it continues to implement Honda's principle of "minimizing machine space, maximizing riding space", and the seemingly small body provides almost unmatched ride and cargo space in its class. In short, the Fit is a typical product of Honda's philosophy: even if you're just driving to buy groceries, you want to have a lot of fun, but it also has the traditional weaknesses of Honda cars when it comes to comfort: poor sound insulation and stiff suspension.

In China, the Fit also has many derivative versions, from the early "Sidi", to the "Fengfan" corresponding to the second-generation Fit, as well as the "Gerui" and "Jingrui" launched by Dongfeng Honda. Unfortunately, due to the limitation of model positioning, there is no model in the configuration of foreign hybrid, four-wheel drive and other configurations to transplant, which is one of the regrets of domestic Fit enthusiasts.

With the same configuration, you can buy the cheapest Fit in the world in China. The starting price of the Fit in the Japanese market is equivalent to about 90,000 yuan, but the low-end car is only suitable for 1.3L engines, and the starting price of the Japanese Fit with the same engine as the Chinese Fit is equivalent to 115,000 yuan, the European market Fit only provides a 1.3L engine, the starting price is equivalent to 99,000 yuan, the Fit in the American market uses the same engine as the Chinese market, the starting price is about 96,000 yuan, and the starting price of the third-generation Fit in China is only 73,800 yuan.

The quality and reliability of Honda cars have never been worried, and the Fit has always been one of the most reliable models in the statistics of Consumer Reports in the United States, especially in the long-term statistics, the failure rate is far below the industry average, and only some of the second-generation Fit air conditioning systems have problems. In the European market, the third-generation Fit also ranked first in the 2014 car reliability evaluation of Auto Express, an authoritative British automotive media. China is one of the important producers of the Fit, and most of the Fit in the European market is produced by the "Honda China" plant, a joint venture between Honda Motor Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Automobile and Dongfeng Motor. In the Chinese market, the first-generation Fit is still everywhere today, while its contemporaries Four-Eyed Polo, Fiat Palio, and Chery QQ are hard to find.

In terms of safety, although many Chinese do not believe that this "thin-skinned" car is safe enough, the Fit has always been one of the safest vehicles in its class (TSP) rated by the world's most authoritative and strict safety rating agency, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In 2014, the third-generation Fit won the TSP again in the IIHS increasingly difficult crash test, and so far, in the entire small car segment, only the Toyota Scion iA and MINI are slightly ahead in safety by having one more automatic braking system than the Fit.

In 2014, the third-generation Fit received the highest safety rating of 5 stars in China's third batch of C-NACP crash tests, with an overall score of 53.6 points. This test result is excellent in the small car segment.

Because it is so outstanding, we believe that all consumers who are planning to buy a small car should go for a test drive of the Fit before making a decision.
