Geely actually already has a very successful Emgrand EC7 in the compact segment, but Geely has launched a compact car again. Judging by the naming conventions of the Chinese automotive industry, the name GL generally means more luxurious and larger. The Emgrand GL is one such car that is impressive in these aspects, and its interior is undoubtedly the most comfortable and "luxurious" in its class, and its cabin design even gives people a "no matter the cost" feeling compared to its price.

 

If it's just a static evaluation, the Emgrand GL makes you feel that Geely is really working hard to create a boutique model, using the configuration level of a mid-level car to build a compact car. The rear row of this car is also very comfortable, and in terms of wheelbase and space, independent brand car companies have never been stingy.

 

If we compare it with the Honda Gary at about the same price, we will find that it is much longer and wider than the Grey, the wheelbase is also longer than the Gry, and the interior is undoubtedly much more luxurious than the Grey. By the standards of most Chinese consumers, Emgrand's 1.3T turbocharged engine is undoubtedly more advanced than Gorey's 1.5L direct-injection engine, and its dual-clutch gearbox also outperforms Gory's CVT gearbox. But in fact, Emgrand's acceleration performance is much worse than that of Gorry, and the fuel consumption is also higher than that of Gorry. Although the rear wheels of the Emgrand GL use disc brakes and the Gory has drum brakes like the Fit, the Braking performance of the Gory is also better and more stable than that of the Emgrand GL.

 

Emgrand has adopted a very high configuration, and it is a very sincere product. But there are still some gaps in the mechanical specifications of a car's base, which is perhaps the hardest part to catch up.
