Beijing Hyundai's model naming has always been dazzling, you see this Yuena, it seems that I have not heard of it at all before, but in fact its English name is Verna, which is the successor model of the previous generation of Rena, and the Rena on sale now, the English name is Reina, which is a small car with a slightly lower positioning than Yuena.
Different from the current Rena, Yuena has obvious design traces in terms of appearance, following the fluid sculpture design of the previous generation Rena in the outline, and the C-pillar part has a small slip back, which can be seen from the side with a very natural streamline. The front is a modern family grille, the headlights and the grille are tightly connected, and the upper part extends backwards along the engine cover, with a strong sense of unity, but limited to the price, the whole series is equipped with halogen headlights as standard. The shape of the rear will be a little more square than the old Reina, but the tail lights are more slender and not too boring to look at.
In terms of power, the 1.4L self-priming engine is the main one, the top configuration is a 1.6L self-priming engine, the low-end model is paired with a 6-speed manual transmission, and the middle configuration is equipped with a 6AT automatic transmission. In terms of sales, the 1.4L automatic transmission low-configuration model has taken into account the advantages of price and configuration, and has become the main sales model, so it is recommended to give priority to it.
The 1.4L self-priming engine with 6AT is actually not a particularly good choice, because the output power of the small displacement engine is not high, but the 6AT gear is more, and there will be more gear shifts in daily driving.
The ride experience is also an advantage of Yuena, although there is not too much sound insulation material piled up, but the suppression of wind noise tire noise is much better than that of Fengfan and Zhixuan. The only drawback is the torsion beam rear suspension, although it is softer and more comfortable when driving in the city, but when passing some speed bumps at high speed, the rear beam will have a more obvious feeling of tossing and jumping.
The interior mainly depends on the model, the manual transmission model will lack a lot of comfort configuration, the appearance is also cheap, the 1.4L top configuration and the 1.6L model are relatively complete, the multi-function steering wheel and sunroof are equipped, but the touch LCD screen is only optional, but the high-end model has a four-way adjustment steering wheel, which is praised.
The rear seat has enough space, but the seats are low and the thighs are not supportive, so the ride is not very comfortable. Passengers over 180cm will feel cramped due to the lack of headroom in the rear due to the fastback shape, and the rear waistline is high and the windows are not large, so shorter passengers will feel limited in their field of vision.
Yuena's performance in terms of reliability is good, there are no high-frequency failures, and the naturally aspirated engine with a traditional 6-speed automatic transmission is also mature, and normal maintenance is sufficient.
