Horizon is a Japanese manufacturer of gaming peripherals and one of the top arcade stick manufacturers. In the controller space, Hori is one of the most well-known third-party PS4 controller brands.

 

The Hori FPS controller is currently available in China. This controller focuses on FPS gaming, removing the vibrations and headphone jack for a pure gaming environment, and changing the linear trigger to a normal trigger for faster clicking speed. In addition, the handle buttons have a combo function, which is convenient for firing firearms. There is a button on the back of this controller to adjust the sensitivity of the joystick, which can be achieved by reducing the sensitivity when aiming in FPS games. But this controller castrates too many functions in the name of FPS, if you are an FPS player, this controller can give it a try, and other game types are not very supported.

 

In 2018, under license from Sony, Hori launched the Onyx controller, Sony's first third-party wireless controller, and it adopted the joystick layout of Xbox. For PS4 console players, the Onyx asymmetrical layout is a novelty. If you experience thumb fatigue while playing "Car Gun Ball" with the original controller, this controller may be able to change this situation. However, compared with Sony's original controller, the Onyx does not have a headphone jack and a breathing light, and the price of $70 is higher than the original, which is really not cost-effective.
