The Nova 4e is a regular upgrade to the Nova 3e, while overseas it is marketed as the P30 Lite. There are two basic configurations, one is 4 128 and the other is 6 128, both of which support Micro SD card expansion, up to 512GB. In terms of configuration and design, the Nova 4e is a mid-range model that focuses on offline channels.
 
In terms of exterior design, Nova 4e can only be said to be decent at this level, the back is an ordinary vertical row of three cameras plus physical fingerprint recognition, visually there are no characteristics, but the materials and craftsmanship are very good, the back cover is made of 3D glass, color gradient color, and it will show an S-shaped curve in the light. It's easy to feel plastic, but the light changes on the back of the Nova 4e are more complicated, and it's interesting to watch for a long time.
 
The front of the Nova 4e is an LCD waterdrop screen, due to the use of a 32 million pixel front camera, but there is no special customization, so the area of the water droplets is very large, and there is no arc transition at the edges, the whole look is very abrupt. After hiding the water droplets, the forehead is too wide, and the chin, which is not narrow, has a large black frame around it, which also affects the appearance. Although waterdrop screens are more common nowadays, the Nova 4e is indeed a relatively rough design.
 
This screen is a 6.15-inch LCD, 2312×1080 pixels, 415ppi, color saturation (NTSC) of 96%, and the color grading is saturated, which is always Huawei style. The LCD special-shaped screen will be darkened at the edge of the screen, which is not unique to Nova 4e, but a common problem in the industry. As for passing the German Rheinland low blue light verification, it is of little significance, because most LCD screens do not have PWM dimming, and the eye protection mode is also yellow, basically there is no problem of blue light hurting the eyes.
 
In terms of performance, Nova 4e only uses the Kirin 710 processor, which has a big gap between the 710 and the Snapdragon 710, and the overall performance is between the Snapdragon 636 and the Snapdragon 660. The CPU size core of the Kirin 710 is similar to that of the Snapdragon 660, and the performance score is slightly weaker than that of the Snapdragon 660, while the GPU part is Mali-G51, and the performance is similar to the Adreno 509 of the Snapdragon 636, but there is a gap compared with the Adreno 512 of the Snapdragon 660. Although Huawei says that the Nova 4e is equipped with GPU Turbo, the frame rate stability is achieved by reducing the resolution, and the frame rate alone is of little significance, and the improvement of the software cannot make up for the hardware gap.
 
The Nova 4e has three cameras on the back, but it's actually a dual-camera solution, with 24 million wide angles, 8 million ultra-wide angles, and a 2 million for bokeh. The most commonly used in daily life is 24 million wide angles, which performs well during the day, with guaranteed white balance and resolution, but in scenes with a relatively large dynamic range, highlights are easy to be overexposed, and bokeh is also a type that often rolls over. Lack of sharpening in night imagery, smudge and noise are severe, and the brightness of the image is greatly increased when night mode is turned on, and the highlights are directly overexposed. The 8 million wide-angle group photos are more practical, but you can't expect too much from the resolution.
 
The front is 32 million pixels, in fact, there are no highlights in selfies, through AI beautification algorithm for skin grinding and facial feature adjustment, plus filters, the difference between 32 million and 20 million is basically not reflected.
 
Nova 4e uses a 3340mAh battery, a little restrained, moderate use for a day is not a big problem, with the charger is 9V2A 18W fast charging, the power is stable at about 16W, it takes 105 minutes from zero to full charge, which is a slow level for this battery capacity.
