Honor 10 2000 yuan mobile phone product evaluation

Honor has always pursued a dual-flagship strategy of the digital series and the V series, and the new products of the two series are launched in turn about half a year apart, and the products keep up with market trends. Since the 8th generation, the Honor digital series has always occupied a place in the hearts of young consumers with its youthful and beautiful appearance, and this Honor 10 is no exception. Among the three configurations of the Honor 10, the lowest configuration of the 6GB 64GB model starts at 2199 yuan, which is very competitive among the 2000 yuan machines.

The front of the Honor 10 is covered with a 2.5D curved glass, and the screen is a 5.84-inch special-shaped full screen with 2280x1080 resolution. In PhoneArena's tests, the screen brightness reached up to 522nits, which looks excellent in sunlight. In addition, although the Honor 10's screen color temperature is on the cold side, users can adjust and modify it in the settings. On the back, there is a curved multi-layer coated glass that creates an ambilight effect, and the "Phantom Blue" and "Phantom Purple" versions also have a gradient effect to show different colors at different angles. However, many consumers said that the glass back cover of the Honor 10 is fragile, and it is recommended to use it with a mobile phone case.

Same as the Huawei P20 series, the fingerprint recognition module of the Honor 10 is located directly below the screen, which reduces the opening on the back of the fuselage, making it more concise and beautiful. Different from the P20 series, its fingerprint recognition module is a non-porous ultrasonic fingerprint, and the identification area is not open, only marked with a circle of dotted lines. In the actual test, the fingerprint unlocking speed of the Honor 10 is faster, and it can realize wet hand unlocking, which is much better than the original non-hole ultrasonic fingerprint carried by the Xiaomi 5S. However, on the whole, its unlocking speed is still not as fast as the traditional capacitive fingerprint recognition, and the accuracy of fingerprint positioning is also high. In other aspects, the Honor 10 retains a 3.5mm headphone jack and uses a Type-C data interface, which does not support waterproofing.

The Honor 10 uses UFS 2.1 flash memory, equipped with the same Kirin 970 processor as the Huawei P20 Pro, and the overall performance of the processor is comparable to that of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, but there is a big gap compared with Snapdragon 845. In terms of games, running "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Exciting Battlegrounds" and adjusting the image quality to the maximum, the average frame rate of the Honor 10 is around 30, and the 845 model runs almost at full frame time. In GSMArena's evaluation, the heat dissipation of the Honor 10 is much better than that of the Huawei P20.

In addition, the GPU Turbo, which Huawei called "a very scary technology", now also supports the Honor 10. In the test of the domestic media Aifu Technology, the GPU Turbo technology is obviously effective, and when running "PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds: Exciting Battlegrounds" with the Honor Play of the Kirin 970 with the Honor 10, "In the scene with more close-up scenes, the frame rate performance is very close to the performance of the Xiaomi Mi 8 using Qualcomm 845; In the relatively open scene, which puts a lot of pressure on GPU rendering, there is still a gap with Xiaomi Mi 8. When running CPU-hungry games like CrossFire and QQ Speed, the performance is slightly better than that of the Xiaomi Mi 8."

The Honor 10 adds an AI mode in terms of photography, equipped with a 24-megapixel camera on the front, a 24-megapixel horizontal dual camera on the rear, and a dual f/1.8 aperture. When AI mode is not enabled, the daytime samples perform well, with high contrast, strong sharpness, rich detail, accurate color reproduction, and fairly average dynamic range. Night shots are less impressive, with accurate color reproduction, less well-controlled noise, strong smudging, and a loss of detail. With AI mode enabled, it can recognize most of the shooting scenes, and the brightness and saturation of the sample are higher than in non-AI mode, but the improvement for night shots is still limited.

In terms of system, the Honor 10 runs the EMUI 8.1 system based on Android 8.1 deep customization, which is one of the more mature and easy-to-use systems in China. Compared with MIUI and Flyme, the EMUI system has fewer built-in ads, and it also adds popular features such as face recognition, transportation cards, and dual application opening. In the actual test, the system fluency of the Honor 10 is even better than that of the Huawei P20.

In terms of battery life, the Honor 10 has a built-in 3400mAh battery, which scored 8 hours and 44 minutes in the PhoneArena test, which is enough to meet the moderate use of the day. In terms of charging, the Honor 10 supports its own Super Charge fast charging technology, equipped with a standard 22.5W fast charging head, with a maximum charging output power of 21W, which can charge from 0 to 100 in about 1 hour and 20 minutes, and the charging speed has stepped into the first echelon. But alas, the Honor 10 does not support wireless charging.
