There are actually two versions of the Reno released this time, one is the standard version, and the other is the 10x zoom version, which seems to be different only from the name, but in fact, the standard version has reduced the linear motor, dual-frequency GPS, main camera optical image stabilization, dual speakers than the 10x zoom version, the SoC has been downgraded from Snapdragon 855 to Snapdragon 710, and the battery capacity has also been reduced by 300mAh.
 
The Reno itself is still a phone with photography as its main selling point, but the standard version not only reduces the periscope telephoto, but also replaces the wide angle with a depth-of-field sub-camera, which is equivalent to only a single camera, and the reduction is very serious. It's normal to have a gap between the standard version and the flagship version, but the gap between the two versions of Reno is very large, even if the standard version is the one that goes offline, and the starting price difference between the two is 1000 yuan, but it is still recommended to add money to buy a 10x zoom version.
 
In terms of appearance, the gap between the standard version and the 10x zoom version is not as big as in the configuration, the body of the standard version is one circle smaller, the rear three cameras are changed to dual cameras, the side-rotating lifting camera is retained, and the standard version even has more mist powder and nebula purple for female consumers. The 10x zoom version only has Fog Sea Green and Polar Night Black, but Fog Sea Green uses AG matte sand etching process, the matte texture is very good, plus a unique monochrome, it is worth recommending.

In terms of performance, the Reno10x zoom version is considered to be a normal performance, except for the earliest batch of Snapdragon 855, which will occasionally overturn, and the follow-up manufacturers generally have no problem as long as they are adjusted normally, mainly depending on the degree of optimization. OPPO has added Game Boost 2.0 to Reno, which is to predict complex game scenarios, keep the GPU at the highest frequency, and achieve the effect of stable frame rates. This optimization still works on the Snapdragon 855, after all, the GPU performance of the 855 is stronger than that of the Kirin 980, and there is no need to reduce the image quality to maintain the frame rate.
 
The photo function of the Reno10x zoom version is a big selling point, and the first part of the model introduction on the official website is the photo function. Reno did not participate in DxO's camera score, and it may be that according to DxO's current scoring criteria, Reno's tuning direction may not get a particularly good score, so he simply did not send it for testing.
 
The three rear cameras from top to bottom are the main camera IMX586, the ultra-wide-angle IMX319 and the periscope telephoto S5K3M5. Among the models that use IMX586, Reno is really distinctive in terms of tuning, not that its imaging has a great advantage over other models, but that it has its own style, if there is a similar model, it will be Samsung S10 , because the two are closer in the direction of pursuing reality and nature.
 
The Reno's main camera has very accurate white balance in daytime imaging, which is much more stable than the Huawei P30 Pro's reddish and yellow cast. In terms of color, the Reno is a bit vibrant, with slightly higher saturation, and in Dazzling mode, it does resemble Fujifilm's colors, which are more pleasing to the eye, but not greasy. In good light, the Reno isn't as bright as the XS Max, but it's more layered and excellent in the first tier.
 
In low-light scenes, the difference is noticeable in Reno's shooting, for example, between smudge and noise, Reno tends to focus on preserving noise rather than using smudge. Even in the night scene, the Reno has a very good image and has a good ability to reproduce a variety of colors, such as the green of the leaves and the yellow of the street lights. In the night mode, the brightness is slightly increased, but the brightness of the dark part is not too high, and the difference between light and dark is still obvious, creating a sense of hierarchy that the night scene should have, closer to the human eye.
