Xiangdian Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as the Central Electrical Equipment Factory of the National Government Resources Committee, was founded in 1936, taken over by the People's Government in 1949, and renamed Xiangtan Electric Machinery Factory of the First Ministry of Machinery Industry in 1953.
