Trend Micro in China

In July 2001, Trend Micro officially entered the Chinese market and set up branches in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and other places, with the purpose of "serving the needs of users with innovation", providing high-quality products and services for users in various industries in China. To date, Trend Micro has nearly 300 employees in Chinese mainland, including more than 100 in its R&D center in Nanjing, and the number is increasing rapidly.

Trend Micro has deployed more than 1,000 dealers in China, and a nationwide channel system covering 30 provinces and cities has been established, laying a good foundation for higher standard sales plans in the future. At the same time, Trend Micro also attaches great importance to cybersecurity training, and more than 1,000 people have passed the Trend Micro Certified Security Expert (TCSE). It not only cultivates high-quality network security practitioners, but also comprehensively improves the awareness and level of network security. On this basis, Trend Micro has established a Trend Micro Service Network in 50 cities across the country, which will provide the most powerful technical support and after-sales service guarantee for the majority of Chinese users.

From the very beginning of its entry into China, Trend Micro has clearly set out three strategic goals: the short-term goal is to become a leader in the enterprise security market; The medium-term goal is to become a security service provider; Trend Micro China's long-term goal is to become a provider of the entire security infrastructure. At present, Trend Micro has achieved impressive results in various industries such as telecommunications, government, finance, power, education, energy and other fields, and its turnover has maintained rapid growth. It is worth mentioning that Trend Micro already has PSP (Enterprise Exclusive Advisory Services) customers in China who charge a service fee. This shows that paid services are gradually being accepted by the market, and there is no doubt that the market potential will be huge.

In August 2003, Trend Micro and the National Computer Antivirus Emergency Center reached an agreement to establish the "Trend Micro* China Antivirus R&D and Technical Support Center-National Antivirus Emergency Center Joint Laboratory" (TrendLabs China) in the National Computer Antivirus Emergency Center, so that the two sides can conduct extensive technical exchanges and promote the development of China's network security industry. Assist the National Response Center in combating cyber security crimes and better serve Trend Micro's users in China. Trend Micro China Labs will leverage the resources of TrendLabs, the Philippines-based global anti-virus R&D and technical support center, which is the only ISO90002-certified antivirus organization in the world and is composed of more than 400 senior security experts to provide 24/7 professional antivirus services to Trend Micro users around the world. The official establishment of TrendLabs China in Tianjin will certainly play a positive role in promoting TrendLabs to better serve Chinese users.

At the same time, Trend Micro has also made a presence in key cities and regions, with Beijing, Nanjing and Guangzhou upgrading from the original offices to Beijing, Nanjing and Guangzhou branches. In Tianjin, Trend Micro Tianjin office will be established on the basis of the existing antivirus R&D laboratory. Through these initiatives, Trend Micro can more appropriately provide more localized support and services to local customers, and also outline the blueprint for Trend Micro to continue to develop and expand across the board in South China, East China, and North China.

In January 2007, Trend Micro announced the launch of the virus code library for China (China pattern), which "proactively" collects a large number of virus samples in China, quickly analyzes virus samples, and releases a special solution for China, which includes global virus patterns, increases local virus patterns in China, and combines Trend Micro's "devirus" technology DCE 5.0 to improve the virus detection rate of Trend Micro antivirus products for users in China.

In July 2007, Trend Micro's China region Trend Labs was officially put into operation in Shanghai. Trend Micro China Cyber Security Monitoring Lab is the first international antivirus vendor to provide solutions for viruses with Chinese characteristics. Trend Micro will truly have the ability to produce and provide solutions for virus patterns in China, providing more extensive, timely and effective anti-virus support for users in China.
