GE in China

In 1908, GE established its first light bulb factory in Shenyang. In 1934, GE bought Shenchang & Co. and began to provide installation and repair services for imported electrical equipment in China.
In May 2012, GE also established a global strategic alliance with China XD Electric Co., Ltd.
Today, all of GE's business units are already operating in China, with more than 18,000 employees and more than 50 operating entities, including wholly-owned enterprises, joint ventures and R&D centers. In 2013, GE's sales revenue in Greater China reached more than US$7 billion.
