History

From an obscure entrepreneur to a leader in the international market

Founded 40 years ago in San Francisco by three founders, Adrian Dalsey, Larry Hillblom and Robert Lynn, DHL continues to grow at an astonishing pace. Today, it is a global leader in the international express and logistics industry.

Back in 1969, the founders of DHL took a small step forward in the direction of their business by flying between San Francisco and Honolulu themselves. Over the years, DHL expanded its network and gradually expanded its business to all corners of the world.
