The Baden-Württemberg Landesbank (LBBW) is an international commercial bank with a wide range of services, engaged in all forms of banking and financial services. It is both a retail and wholesale bank and the central institution of the Baden-Württemberg Savings Bank. In addition, it is also engaged in savings banking in the capital of Stuttgart.

The Baden-Württemberg State Bank (LBBW) was founded in January 1999 by Sudwestdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrak (founded in 1916) and Landergirokasse-Offentliche Band und Landessparkadde (founded in 1818) as well as the Landerkreditband The commercial banking business of Baden-Wutterberg (founded in 1924) was formed. LBBW has a registered capital of 1.278 billion euros, of which 39.5% is owned by the Baden-Württemberg state government, 27.15% by Württemberg Savings Bank and Settlement Association, 12.35% by Baden Savings Bank and Settlement Association and 21% by the Stuttgart government.

By the end of 1999, LBBW had 230 branches in Baden-Württemberg and offices in all important trade and business centers in Germany. LBBW is the largest bank in southwestern Germany, ranking among the 10 largest banks in Germany and one of the 50 largest credit institutions in the world. LBBW's headquarters are located in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Mannhrim. The bank's shares are traded on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.
