Zhang Tongtai, Hu Qingyu Tang, Ye Chongde Tang, Wan Chengzhi Tang, Taishan Tang, Fang Huichun Tang, are the famous six major medicine shops in Hangzhou in the old days. Nowadays, whenever people take the No. 38 bus to pass by Zhong'anqiao Station, they can see big characters such as "authentic medicinal materials, Qihuang Zhengchuan" and "Zhang Tongtai" on a tall powder wall. Zhang Tong's Thai medicine number has been opened at No. 99 Zhongshan North Road, Tongchunfang, and Children's Lane. It covers an area of 1,400 square meters, founded in the tenth year of Jiaqing (1805), 70 years earlier than Huqing Yutang, and has a history of more than 200 years, so it is the oldest and longest existing Chinese medicine number in Hangzhou. The founder of Zhang Tongtai is called Zhang Mei, a native of Majing Village, Cixi, Zhejiang. Initially, Maochang Medicine was opened under the Xingong Bridge River in Hangzhou. In the tenth year of Jiaqing (1805), he spent 5,000 taels of silver to buy Shen Tongtai Medicine at the current site, and renamed it Zhang Tongtai Medicine.
