Danxia Mountain, China's Red Rock Park, is located at the junction of Renhua County and Zhenjiang District, Shaoguan City, Guangdong Province. Longitude 113°36′25" to 113°47′53", latitude 24°51′48" and 25°04′12" N. The total area is 292 square kilometers. It is a national scenic spot, a national nature reserve, a national geological park, and a national AAAA-level tourist area. It is a natural scenic spot dominated by Danxia landform landscape. On February 13, 2004, it was approved by UNESCO as the world's first batch of global geoparks, and on July 5 of the same year, Danxia Mountain Global Geopark was officially unveiled and opened.

Danxia landform refers to the terrestrial redbed landform with steep cliffs. As the named place of Danxia landform, the development of Danxia landform in Danxia Mountain is typical, representative, diverse and irreplaceable.
Danxia Mountain was called Quhonggang, Shaoshi Mountain, and the old place of burning wood Buddha in ancient times. It is composed of more than 680 red gravel rocks with flat tops (top slopes), steep bodies and gentle feet, and is characterized by red cliffs. The highest peak, Bazhai, is 619.2 meters above sea level. According to the research of geologists, among the more than 800 Danxia landforms that have been discovered in China, Danxia Mountain is the most typical, the most complete type, the richest modeling, the most beautiful scenery and the most well-studied Danxia landform concentrated distribution area.
Danxia Mountain is composed of five scenic spots: Danxia, Bazhai, Shaoshi, Dwarf Village and Jinjiang Gallery. It is famous for the male of the Red Cliff Danya, the wonder of the Yin and Yang Yuan Stone, the danger of Bazhai, the beauty of the Jinjiang River, the seclusion of Xianglong Lake, the rhyme of Shaoshi, and the expanse of Xia Fu.
Danxia Scenic Area is composed of Elder Peak, Xianglong Lake, Yangyuan Stone, Jinjiang and other tourist areas. In the middle and lower layers of the Elder Peak tourist area, there are Jinshi Rock Cave Temple, Mengjue Pass, Selushed Cave Tongtian, Baizhang Gorge, Fountain Jade Spring, Dragon Scale Stone, Five-color Fault Big Porphyry, Mawei Waterfall, "Jinyan" Cliff Stone Carving and Tablet Carving Group and other red cliffs and cultural landscapes; In the middle layer, there are "Danxia Mountain Chronicle" cliff stone carving group, Gospel Gorge, Bichuan Zen Temple, natural rock, mandarin duck tree, double swamp blue lotus, Tongtian Gorge, Yufeng Pavilion and other scenic spots; The iron cable of the Dengdan ladder is the upper layer, the three peaks of the elder peak, the conch peak, the Baozhu peak tower, the snow rock, the evening show rock, the echo rock, the grass hanging rock, the Huiguang rock, the conch rock and the monk's tomb, the red bean acacia forest, the snail top floating tu, the Hongqiao Yongcui, the scale rock, the rudder stone and other scenic spots and are displayed between the mountain tops. The Sun Viewing Pavilion, the Baozhu Pavilion and the Shaoyin Pavilion are good places to watch the sunrise and enjoy the sunset. The Yangyuan Stone Tourist Area is named after the Yangyuan Stone. "Leave a lonely pillar to support the world". Yangyuan stone is a natural stone pillar that resembles male genitalia, with a height of 28 meters and a diameter of 7 meters, and is known as "the first strange stone in the world". The main scenic spots also include the balcony, the cloud cliff plank road, the Jiayun Pavilion, the fine beauty village, the ninety-nine ladder, the Tongtai Bridge, the seal stone, the lion rock, the Kunpeng wings and so on. Xianglong Lake Scenic Area is named after the contour of the lake surface resembling a soaring green dragon, and there are scenic spots such as Longjiao Mountain, Xianju Rock Taoist Temple, Yudai Bridge, Panda Stone, Ancient and Modern Dragon Culture Stone Carving, Official Hat Stone and so on. At the end of the lake, there is a natural stone cave that resembles the female reproductive organ - Yin Yuan Stone, which is 10.3 meters high, 4.8 meters wide and 4.3 meters deep. Along the Jinjiang River cruise scenery belt, you can see the scenery of Lion's Head Rock, Sleeping Beauty, Elephant Mountain, Cactus Insertion, Umbrella Stone, Jinyan Big Red Cliff, Carp Leaping Dragon Gate, Tiger Head Rock, Golden Turtle Pilgrimage, Six-Fingered Demon Capture, Sister Peak, Teapot Peak, Tongzi Worship Guanyin and other scenery in full view. The human face stone, leek village, Yangzhou village, and the first line of Huangshakeng-Miaozikeng are beautiful.
Shaoshi Scenic Area, east of Zhenjiang River, according to legend, more than 4,000 years ago, Emperor Shun toured south to play Shao music and got its name. Han Yuyou, a famous poet in the Tang Dynasty, praised in a poem: "If you want to tie the boat to the Shaoshi for the time being, the guest Yu Shun will be crowned." The scenic spot is composed of 36 peaks of Shaoshi such as Shaoshi Peak, Golden Turtle Rock, Wuma Gui Trough, Shuangque Stone, etc., which is the original place of Shao culture. The Wumagui Trough-Sun Rock at the confluence of the Zhenjiang River and its tributary Jinjiang River is the most dangerous, deepest, most tortuous river section with the longest sandy beach and the most beautiful scenery in the whole basin of the Zhenjiang River.
Bazhai Scenic Area, commonly known as Dashishan Scenic Area. It is located in the west of Danxia Mountain. Bazhai, Teapot Peak (Bashi), Yanyan, Bian Zhai (Camel Village), Misie Rock (Wuxian Rock), Sister Peak (Tongjin Village), Thumb Peak, Shangtianlong, Guanyin Mountain, Tianluo Mountain and other majestic Danya Peaks and the idyllic scenery of the Xiafu Small Plain set off with each other. Among them, there are also flying flower water, Wangshankeng, pot cave stream scenery.
Dwarf Village Scenic Area, located in the southwest of Danxia Mountain. It is composed of Fenghuo Ridge, South Snake Head, Jiuniankeng Waterfall, Lion's Brain Mountain, Umbrella Stone, Triumphal Arch, Shilongxi Canyon, etc. The double waterfall of Jiuniankeng is more than 30 meters high. The Arc de Triomphe is a stone arch and stands apart from the peaks, making it spectacular. Shilongxi Canyon is more than 200 meters deep and more than 4,000 meters long, which is the deepest canyon in Danxia Mountain area.
Jinjiang Gallery Scenic Area, the source of the Jinjiang River is Chongyi Bamboo Cave in Jiangxi Province, with a total length of 109 kilometers, and the downstream section of 34 kilometers runs through the Danxia Mountains from north to south. The red cliffs on both sides of the bank are upside down, the green bamboo embraces the river, the streams and waterfalls flow, it is a landscape gallery where mountains and rivers blend. Danxia Power Station and Yaoshan Power Station divide the river into 3 sections, and you can enjoy the lion's head rock, the sleeping beauty, the group of elephants out of the mountain, the golden turtle pilgrimage, the six-fingered demon capture, the sister peak, the teapot peak, the Bazhai, the boy worships Guanyin, the Jinjiang petroglyphs, the Tianluo Mountain, the Matou Village, the Jinlong Mountain, the gourd village, the ancient boat ruins, the confluence of the two rivers, the five horses return to the trough and other wonders and the idyllic scenery of the villages on both sides of the river.
