Wuyi Mountain has a unique, rare and wonderful natural landscape, which is a rare natural beauty zone, and is a representative of the harmony and unity of human beings and the natural environment. In November 1982, the State Council approved the establishment of Wuyi Mountain National Key Scenic Area here, with a total area of 70 square kilometers. Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area is a typical Danxia landform, Jiuqu River Pan Ring Area, there are 36 strange peaks and 99 rocks on both sides of Jiuqu River. In 1990, Barkov, the former chairman of the Executive Committee of the World Tourism Organization, happily wrote an inscription after visiting Wuyi Mountain: "The unpolluted Wuyi Mountain Scenic Area is a model of environmental protection in the world." ”

Wuyi Mountain is a key area for the conservation of global biodiversity, a habitat for rare and endangered species that still exist, and a prominent example of the evolution of organisms and the interrelationship between humans and the natural environment. In July 1979, the State Council approved the establishment of Wuyi Mountain Nature Reserve, with a total area of 850,000 mu. The forest coverage rate in the area has reached 95.3%, and the content of negative oxygen ions in the air is as high as 80,000 to 90,000 per cubic centimeter, which is a "natural oxygen bar". Wuyi Mountain is extremely rich in species resources, with 3,728 known plant species and 5,110 animal species, and is called "the key to the study of amphibians and reptiles", "the paradise of birds", "the kingdom of snakes", "the world of insects" and "the window of the world's creatures" by Chinese and foreign biologists.

Wuyi Mountain is rich in historical and cultural relics, and the cultural relics of "ancient Min people" and "Minyue people" in its territory are historical witnesses of ancient civilizations. In the Song Dynasty, Wuyi Mountain was a collection of Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism, and was called "Min Bang Zou Lu" by Confucianism, and "Shengzhen Yuanhua Dongtian" by Taoism. Wuyi Mountain is rich in natural resources and is a famous grain, forest and tea producing area in the south of the Yangtze River in China. The forest coverage rate of Wuyishan City is 79.2%.
