Biomass
The Group uses biomass raw materials such as agricultural and forestry waste to generate electricity and heat. As of April 10, 2017, the Group had 37 biomass projects, including seven projects in operation, 12 projects under construction and 18 projects in the pipeline, with a total installed capacity of 810 MW, a total designed processing capacity of 7,099,800 tonnes per year of biomass raw materials and a total designed treatment capacity of 1,679,000 tonnes of domestic waste per annum. The Group focuses on regions with abundant biological resources and favorable government policies, such as Jiangsu Province and Anhui Province.
The Group's business converts biomass raw materials into electricity or heat, reducing open burning of biomass raw materials across China, which is a common practice in many parts of China, and effectively alleviating the growing problem of air pollution and smog in China. At the same time, the procurement of biomass raw materials will increase employment opportunities, benefiting farmers and the rural economy.
In addition to biomass raw materials for power generation and heating, the Group has developed a unique business model of urban-rural integration, providing one-stop services for local governments to comprehensively dispose of local biomass raw materials and rural domestic waste.
Hazardous waste disposal
The Group collects and safely disposes of hazardous waste to minimize its impact on the environment. As of 10 April 2017, the Group had 22 hazardous waste treatment projects, including eight projects in operation, two projects under construction and 12 projects in preparation, with a total designed hazardous waste treatment capacity of 504,150 tonnes per year. Focusing on areas with a high degree of industrialization and a high concentration of waste, such as Jiangsu Province and Shandong Province, the Group has established hazardous waste treatment facilities in or around industrial parks to ensure continuous and stable business needs. The Group is currently able to process 42 of the 46 hazardous wastes listed on the National Hazardous Waste List.
Photovoltaic power generation and wind power
The Group operates photovoltaic power generation and wind power facilities to produce electricity. As of 10 April 2017, the Group had commenced operation of seven photovoltaic power generation projects and two wind power projects with a total installed capacity of 125.9 MW.
