National Grid Transco is the UK's largest energy and utilities company.
On April 27, 2002, British energy companies National Grid and Lattice announced a major plan to merge with the same share to create the UK's largest utility company, with total assets of 14.8 billion pounds ($21 billion), and the new company called National Grid Transco, which is expected to save at least 100 million pounds a year. The merger will bring together two of the UK's major energy companies, both former state-owned utilities. In 2012, it ranked 499th in the Fortune Global 500 list.
Lattice was once part of British Natural Gas and operated a natural gas transportation system in the UK, while NATIONAL GRID (ADR) is an international energy transmission company with a focus on the regulated electricity and gas industry. They own and operate a high-pressure iodine transmission network in England and Wales as well as a gas transportation system in the UK. He is one of the top 10 electric utilities in the U.S. and has the largest transmission and distribution network in the New England/New York area.

National Grid will also use National Grid Transco's combined resources and financial resources to gain an advantage in open overseas power markets, specifically to expand National Grid's successful strategy in the United States.
