ContiTech division is one of the world's leading manufacturers of non-tire rubber and plastics technology. It is composed of seven independently operated business units: ContiTech Fluid Transfer Technology Group, ContiTech Conveyor Belt Group, Benecke-Kalico, ContiTech Drivetrain Group, ContiTech Air Spring Systems, ContiTech Vibration Control Systems and ContiTech Adhesive Tape Technology.

As a development partner and original equipment manufacturer, the company designs, develops and produces a wide range of functional components and systems for the automotive industry, machinery and instrument manufacturing, railway vehicles, printing, construction, chemical and petrochemical industries, marine, aerospace and mining. Today, Contedic has more than 220,000 employees in more than 80 plants in 25 countries and sales of more than 2.8 billion euros in 2005.

ContiTech is the world's leading manufacturer of air springs for heat-resistant automotive supercharged intake and exhaust pipes, dredging of large waterways and offshore oil pipelines, conveyor belts, and rail vehicles, and is the largest European manufacturer of automotive hoses and pipes, and air spring systems for commercial vehicles.

In order to guarantee its technological innovation, ContiTech regularly invests thousands of euros in research and development, and its 2,329 patents and patent applications in Germany and around the world are proof of the company's outstanding achievements in technological innovation. Currently, ContiTech has 40 R&D facilities worldwide.

ContiTech's latest developments include timing belts with the same service life as automobiles, heatable line technology, soot particulate trap lines, steering gear protectors with a pressure-balanced film to prevent damage and deformation of the protective covers, hinged bus and rail coach aisle canopies, and special instrument panel surface finishing materials that combine faux leather and two-tone slush molding skin technology.
