Huntsman resins
Huntsman upgraded the former Vantico epoxy business to an independent company within the company and appointed Paul Hulme, the former head of Bnemen, as manager. Vantico became part of Huntsman's Polyurethanes (PU) business unit following its acquisition in July. Hulme left Bnemen in 1999 to join Huntsman, where he has managed the business ever since. The company, now known as Huntsman Advanced Materials, has $1 billion in annual revenue, and a Huntsman spokesman said the epoxy business was too large to include in the polyurethane business. Huntsman Group believes that Advanced Materials will do better if it becomes an independent company. Advanced Materials also manufactures adhesives, line coatings, electrical insulation, optronics and architectural composites for use in aerospace, automotive, electronics, entertainment and appliances.
